In 1922 the Quan Sing family of three brothers moved to Carnarvon from Derby to set up a tailoring and hardware store to serve the remote coastal township. Generations of the family continued to operate the store, until it burnt down in 1992. One of the brothers, Winson Quan Sing, wore these glasses while at work in the family shop, the frames perched upon his nose as he checked the shop ledgers and examined the stock.
