Merry-Go-Round In The Sea
Acclaimed writer Randolph Stow grew up in Geraldton in the 1930s and 40s, the son of a country lawyer. Even from a young age he showed signs of the creativity that was to define his life. He went on to pen several novels and books of poems, inspired by the landscape around him. One of his most popular books was Merry-Go-Round in the Sea. This second-edition copy of the book was signed by Stow’s mother Mary, and is one of many books and artefacts in the library’s local stories Randolph Stow Collection. You can visit a replica ‘merry-go-round-in-the-sea’ near the Geraldton foreshore at the western end of Marine Terrace.
