South Australian artist Hans Heysen (1877 – 1968) is best known for his epic paintings of the Australian bush. He painted in watercolour about toiling in Australian landscapes, with giant gum trees dwarfing figures and animals. This watercolour, made in 1953, is from the Carole and Peter Taylor Collection.
