Tuning into the ABC Radio’s educational broadcast was a regular feature of primary school life in the 1950s. The artworks on the wall show more liveliness than the faces of these neatly dressed children, though they do seem to be listening! The Headmaster’s journal tells of the difficult first few months, when even basic equipment such as desks and tables, as well as heating, were seriously lacking. However furniture gradually arrived, and, with the efforts of a Parents & Citizens Association and Bunnings Bros, playground equipment.
