“Touched” by Britta Sorensen
In 2018, contemporary artist Britta Sorensen created an opportunity for the Margaret River community to become embedded in an artwork experience. For sixteen days, Sorensen lived, slept and worked inside a mesh tent-like structure in a totally silent room. The public was invited to enter the silent space and contribute to the weaving installation by tying and weaving recycled cloth into the mesh.It grew into this huge woven artwork, a colourful expression of inter-connectedness and shared experience. “Touched” is now displayed on the wall of the Library.
