Gilbert's Potoroo

Fauna

This furry creature represents a real comeback story! The Gilbert's Potoroo was thought to be extinct until it was rediscovered in 1994 at Two People’s Bay. Since then many people have been involved in researching, breeding and restoring the Potoroo population. It is an inspiring story of the unique biodiversity of the South Coast and of community efforts to save this special marsupial.
