Racing legend

This Reading racing bib belonged to speedway racing legend Bob Humphries. He was born in England but moved to Australia and resided in Sawyers Valley. In the 1960s Bob began road racing. However, in the 1970s he was the Captain of the Speedway Test Team and moved to England to compete. During his time in England he represented teams from Reading, Kings Lynn, Swindon, Milton Keynes and Arena Essex. When he moved back to Australia, he resumed road racing. Even into his 60s, Bob competed in road races against much younger competitors.
