Bush toys

Imagine if this was all your kids had to play with. Aboriginal children who grew up in shacks on the Geraldton Native Reserve made their own toys from any available material. The reserve was within walking distance of town, but out of sight. While life was tough on the reserve, the children made the best of it. Few had proper dolls or toys so they’d fashion together playthings, like this tin rattle or instrument.
