Gwalia Rifle Club trophy

Oscar Edward Johnson won the ‘Robert Stuart Cup’ at the Gwalia Rifle Club in October 1910 and was awarded this trophy. Johnson was a miner at the Sons of Gwalia Mine and a member of the Rifle Club for over 12 years. Sadly, Johnson died in 1915 during World War I as an enlisted member of the Australian Imperial Force 12th Battalion. The medallion was discovered more than 100 years later at the base of Mt. Leonora by a local resident
