Holden Torana LC GTR UX1
You can almost smell the petrol and hear the roar of this 1971 Bathurst 500 replica 'Torrie' (Torana) screaming down the straight during a Phillip Island race. This car is a replica of the Torana raced by Peter Brock (Brocky). He was one of Australia’s best motorsports racers and is still known as King of the Mountain, due to his unbeaten record for winning the Bathurst 500 nine times. Sadly, Brocky died in Gidgegannup WA, during the 2006 Targa West rally, after the car he was racing hit a tree. In 2007 this Holden Torana was recognised as the nation’s tribute car of the year. The car features the signatures of racing legends Lewis Brock, Jim Richards, Tony Longhurst, Allan Moffat and Mick Hone, Brocky’s co-driver during the 2006 Targa West.
