Page from the Nuremberg Chronicle
Incunable
This page from the Nuremberg Chronicle is the oldest item in the collection. It was produced in the 1400s at Anton Koberger’s printing press in Nuremberg, Germany. The Nuremberg Chronicle is one of the most famous 'incunables' - these which were early books or pamphlets, produced in Europe before the year 1500. Interestingly, Koberger is the godfather of famous Renaissance painter and printer Albrecht Dürer, who sold his prints across Europe.
