Photograph album of the 1982 Floods
No one in Cranbrook would dare name their child or pet “Bruno”. On January 22, 1982, Cyclone Bruno brought torrential rain to many parts of Western Australia and caused devastation in the Tambellup and Cranbrook area. Bridges and roads were destroyed when the Gordon-Frankland River flooded in a one in 100 year weather event. Farms were cut off until the water subsided and temporary access could be created. The photographs in this album illustrate the extent of the damage which took many months to repair.
