Aboriginal Artefacts
The Coondie Stick is a Nyoongar implement made from the jam tree (acacia) and sits alongside a Wanna, a women’s digging stick. Sounds of birdsong and a Nyoongar welcome fill the air as you enter this darkened grove of trees. Information on traditional bush tucker and the Nyoongar seasons provides a valuable perspective on Nyoongar cultural traditions. Along the winding path of this part of the Discovery Centre, children will enjoy stopping to use the press button screens to learn about the life cycles of the forrests and plantations.
