Surveying Instruments

Equipment

This wooden box contains the tools that were used by Captain George Medcalf in his career as a qualified surveyor when he returned from the war in 1917. Looking like an advanced geometry set, these precision instruments were used by Medcalf in areas throughout the State, where he surveyed land for private and government clients. His work contributed significantly to the development of the State.
