The Agnes
“I can see her!” The arrival of the Agnes at the settlement of Bremer Bay was a very important event. This wooden hulled schooner brought supplies, news and passengers to tiny settlements along the South Coast during the 1880s, and collected passengers and produce to take to the port of Albany. In 1892, heavy seas resulted in the Agnes being swept high on the shore. Looking around at the buildings here, you might find some of the timbers from the Agnes, as much of the salvaged timber was used in buildings around this property. This detailed model of the Agnes was commissioned by Max Wellstead.
