Eastern Goldfields Historical Society Inc

A researcher's dream

The Eastern Goldfields Historical Society was formed in 1946 and has an impressive collection which includes objects, and archives of historical documents and photographs. The photographic collection, alone, contains approximately 70,000 images and includes the Tom Williams Collection of negatives. Williams was a photographer in Kalgoorlie between 1924 and 1968, and this collection contains 5,000 negatives. You will also find rare books, maps and plans, manuscripts and ephemera. It is also a great place to buy local histories and biographies. The Society is run by an executive officer who is supported by volunteers and assists researchers and visitors to understand the history of the Goldfields, investigate family history and pursue other research interests. Make a request via their online Research Request Form.
