Koorda and Districts Museum and Historical Society

A museum in the heart of corn dolly country

This is a diverse collection for such a small town, lovingly maintained by a group of volunteers. The Museum is laid out like the old Koorda & Districts Centennial Hospital, and even includes the operating theatre which was used between 1932 and 1940. Many of the medical items were donated to the collection from the Merredin, Wyalkatchem and Kununoppin Hospitals when they closed. Find out about the doctors who cared for the people of Koorda, some of whom donated items to the collection. Explore the extensive local history collection including maps, books, brochures, pamphlets and the Narkal Notes, a local newspaper run by volunteers. At the back of the site there is a Machinery Shed and the Old Koorda Lockup.
