Red Dog file

File
A loyal friend

It is not only people that have made this region famous. The enigmatic Red Dog, now the subject of Louis de Bernières' book and a subsequent feature film, claimed his place in history as he hitchhiked around the area, befriending many but loyal to none. This file tracks his public appearances and tragically marks his final demise by baits meant for wild dogs. His memory lives on in the many anecdotes and tributes found in this file, as well as at his memorial statue in Dampier.
