Beautifully articulated in the dot-style painting of the western desert, Beagle Bay artist Peter Achill presents two perspectives of emus, meeting and creating new life, in the billabong country of his home. He says, “The picture tells the story of two emus making love … The emus come together and they have a drink from the billabong, the woman lays an egg and the man looks after it.” This figurative painting is part of the Painting the Future exhibition.
