A chatelaine was a set of chains attached to a belt which included useful items such as a pencil, note pad, needles, thimble, tape measure and purse. They were made in the 1800s to be used by the Lady of the House (Chatelaine) or a housekeeper. What would you put on your chatelaine these days?
