This handsome black top hat made from beaver fur was a familiar sight in this building over many decades.It was worn by Mr Thomas Paisley, who started teaching here when he was only 19 years old. He became Headmaster and continued to teach here for 32 years, retiring in 1913. Look out for the photos which show Mr Paisley wearing the hat. Immerse yourself in a school room from the past at the rear of the Museum, and be shocked by some of the rules for teachers!
