Dolls for medals

Dolls like this were awarded to Australian servicemen to recognise their stand against the Viet Cong in the Battle of Long Tan. The Australian government informed the South Vietnamese government that their personnel could not accept medals from a foreign government. Therefore, Long Tan dolls were awarded in recognition of valour, instead of medals.
