In the days before computers and digital media, the Broome Shire directory was essential. Here you could find every person and business in town. The front covers unveil the changing face of Broome from luggers and pearling to sunset beach destinations. Gradually the focus of the directory shifted from business to include the social and cultural fabric of this unique, small, transcultural country town. The Library has every directory since 1981.
