Stepping into the wine vault, you enter hallowed ground. Within this dimly lit, cave-like space, are rows and rows of bottles of wine, chronologically arranged behind a wall of glass. A timeline sketches out the development of the winery since the first vines were planted in 1967. A quote from the founder, Dr Tom Cullity makes for interesting reading: “The motive for the first planting near Margaret River was not commercial. It was a doubtful proposition without back-up. The only aim was to make the best possible wine.” The wine collection in front of you is a perfect response.
