Milk Canister Labels

These metal labels carry the names of dairy farmers of the district. The label hung around the neck of the milk canister, and was essential for identifying the source of the milk when it came into the dairy. Looking at these labels you can see that the milk came in from as far away as Nannup and Boyanup. These labels are part of a very large display of butter-making equipment in the Museum. A cabinet of trophies from national and international awards tells of the high quality product made in this factory which operated from 1918 to 1952.
