Esperance Museum

The largest museum collection outside Perth

You will need more than one visit to take in this impressive collection. The museum is a short stroll from the foreshore, in a historic railway building. Get lost in the large collection of items, from intimate curios to the large railway carriages. A steam locomotive sits on the original railway tracks which used to go through the building. Marvel at the minute and unusual in the natural history collection, including a bull ant collection and mulga balls from sheep. A museum by the ocean would not be complete without a maritime collection, starting with a large boat just inside the entrance. The museum is maintained by an army of volunteers. If you look carefully in the natural history section, you will see a dedication to these tireless workers.
