Hannans North Tourist Mine

Mining in the Goldfields, from the beginning.

Put on your walking shoes as you walk through the ages of mining. Pan for gold and feel tiny in a reconstructed haul pak dump truck. The Hannans North Tourist Mine displays an array of mining items from the small-scale alluvial mining of the late 1800s, to large scale open cut and underground mining. Hannans North Mine site is one the original mine sites in Kalgoorlie, first leased in 1893. The original Hannans shaft was used to extract gold between 1934 and 1952. When Hainault Tourist Mine closed down in 1991, the collection was moved to the Hannans North Site.
