With temperatures reaching over 50 degrees in the shade, the people of Marble Bar were always looking for ways to keep cool. In the days before electricity, people built rooms with spinifex walls, which were dampened to cool the breeze as it passed through. This fan, with its wire protector is a stark reminder of how hot it can be in this small gold mining town.
