Banksiadale Saw

Equipment

As you enter the building, stop and marvel at this huge saw which appears to be floating within a glass wall. This saw is from the Banksiadale Mill, which survived the 1961 fires, only to be burnt down in 1963. The Mill was not rebuilt, the town closed, and some of the houses from Banksiadale were relocated to Dwellingup. The area is now the site of the South Dandalup Dam. Look around the walls of the Visitor Centre to find the names of many of the other small mill towns.
