Red Cross Collection

Military memorabillia

This collection includes many rare items which have survived the trenches of World War I as well as other battlefields. Several examples of ‘comfort boxes’ show the changing form of these packs of basic items which were welcomed by soldiers in all conflicts. The drawers of badges represent Red Cross societies and branches from across the world. Looking through the racks of uniforms, it is interesting to contemplate the dangerous situations in which these uniforms may have been worn.
