Carnamah Museum and Macpherson Homestead

Take a stroll through Carnamah History

A stroll through the Carnamah Historical Society's museum is like a journey through the region’s past. You’ll find an extensive collection of old machinery and tools in the Museum’s yard and sheds while the interior houses objects, photos and documents from Carnamah’s social, domestic, commercial and agricultural past. If you can’t visit in person you can check out their ‘virtual museum’ - a surprisingly detailed range of online information, including biographies on past residents.

The historical society also runs the State heritage-listed Macpherson Homestead. This gorgeous old building was built in the late 1860s as one of the first in the district. Wander its sweeping verandas to imagine life in the early days and poke about the yard to discover old vehicles and machinery.

While you're in Carnamah, be sure to visit Hal Walton's Tractor Museum. Contact Lindsay 0428 306 969 or Dick 9951 1436 for a tour.
