Denmark Historical Society

Preserving the Heritage of Denmark, Western Australia'

Once a place where prisoners were locked up, this old Police Station is now the home of the Denmark Historical Society which works hard to unlock the history of this picturesque town. The history of pioneering families and the early timber and dairy industries is told through the displays. The Group Settler experience is another important story told here. Ongoing research by dedicated volunteers is shared through informative articles in the Historical Society’s quarterly newsletter ‘Koorabup’. Koorabup means ‘the place of the black swan’ in Nyoongarand is also the name of the Denmark River.
