City of Albany Art Collection

Albany's natural beauty attracts many creative people who are inspired by the local environment. Claude Hotchin, the arts patron who donated artworks to various local governments throughout Western Australia, loved Albany and lived here for a number of years. In 1949 Hotchin donated paintings to the Town of Albany, and this was the starting point for a collection which has now grown to over 400 items. Selections from the Collection are shown in the Albany Public Library as well as in changing exhibitions at the Albany Town Hall and the Vancouver Arts Centre in Albany.
